Ruth A. Colip Loudon, Tennessee Obituary

Ruth A. Colip

Ruth Ann Collins Colip, 81, passed away on November 10, 2020, in Loudon, TN. Ruth was the daughter of the late John Robert Collins and Dovie Leona Davis Collins of Muskogee, OK. She was also predeceased by two brothers: John Collins, of Las Cruces, NM, and Robert (Bob) Collins, of Loudon, TN. In 1976, Ruth married the love of her life, George Delbert Colip. They worked and resided in several states over the years with Ruth working as an executive assistant with Tandem Computers. Upon retirement, she and George settled in Loudon’s Tellico Village. They spent many happy years there socializing and indulging their hobbies. Amazingly, Ruth predeceased her husband of nearly 44 years by just 14 hours. Holding hands at the end, even in death they were not to be separated. Ruth is survived by her stepson and his wife, James (Jim) and Linda Colip, of Roanoke, VA, and her stepdaughter Deborah (Debbie) Colip Hendricks and husband, Dr. Terry Hendricks, of Gig Harbor, WA. Ruth could not have loved her four grandsons more if they were of her own blood: Dr. Matthew Hendricks and wife Marayd, of Seattle, WA; Kyle Hendricks, of Denver, CO; Grant Colip, of Raleigh, NC; and Weston Colip, of Roanoke, VA. Also left to cherish her memory are two loving sisters-in-law: Mary Ann Collins of Las Cruces, NM, and Veda Collins of Loudon, TN. It is of special note that Veda is now providing a happy and healthy new home to George and Ruth’s beloved poodle, Callie. No obituary of theirs would be complete without mentioning sweet Callie whom they loved so very much. The family thanks both River Grove Health and Rehabilitation and Avalon Hospice for taking such good care of Ruth and George during the very challenging times of 2020. In keeping with Ruth’s wishes, there will be no services. Cremation is being provided by Click Funeral Home in Loudon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent in her name to the charity of your choice.
