Pedro G. Rios, 75, died Monday, November 9, 2020 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. He was born December 16, 1944 in Loredo, Texas, the son of Manuel & Hortencia (Garcia) Rios. Pedro has been a resident of Garden City since 1966. He worked for the Garden City Co-op for several years. He then began working for USD #457 in which he worked as a grounds keeper for over 20 years. Pedro enjoyed watching football, taking care of his truck, and he loved to spend time with his family. Pedro was a God fearing man who loved spending time at his Church. (The Church of God of The First Born) On December 12, 1962, he married Ermina Jimenez in Avoca, Texas. She survives. Other survivors include four children Pete Rios Jr., Sylvia Rios, Rebecca Rios, & Veronica Hernandez all of Garden City; two brothers; eight sisters; eighteen grandchildren; and thirty five great-grandchildren. Pedro is preceded in death by his parents; a brother Andrew Rios; a sister Carmen Rios; and a grandson Gabriel Rios. A Vigil service will start at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, November 13, 2020 at The Church of God of The First Born in Garden City. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2020 also at the Church of God of the First Born in Garden City with Pastor John Janas and Pastor Ramon Mendoza officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday at the Church of God of the First Born in Garden City.
