Bessie Cooley

Piedmont - Bessie Virginia Gillespie Cooley, 93, wife of the late Rev. John Joseph Cooley, Jr., passed away on Monday, November 10, 2020. Born in Pickens County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Truman and Martha Estelle Griffith Gillespie. She retired from Varat Manufacturing and was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church. The last surviving member of her immediate family, survivors include a daughter, Vickie Jenkins of Pelzer; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 13, at Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery.
