Robert William Mackinnon Cranbrook, British Columbia Obituary

Robert William Mackinnon

June 5, 1985 – October 30, 2020 Rob was a man who was larger than life in so many ways. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with family and friends. Growing up in Moyie, B.C., he enjoyed hunting, fishing and developed a lifelong passion for the lake life. After graduating from Mount Baker Secondary in 2003, Rob attended the College of the Rockies, obtaining his heavy-duty mechanics in 2004. In 2007 Rob married the love of his life, Alexis. They had two beautiful children, Tavin and Oasys who quickly became his partners in crime. Rob enjoyed spending time with his family and pets, cooking on open fires, creating his “Daddy Burgers,” camping, picnics and playing at the various lakes and rivers in the area. A Christmas tradition was the hunt for the perfect Christmas tree... not that one was always found, but the family time was always one of his favorites. In the last almost four years, Rob had worked with CNRL in Fort McMurray, and had gained an extensive work family with the “D” Crew. Rob is survived by his wife Alexis, children Tavin and Oasys, his brother Justin, dad Dale, stepdad Jack, uncles Larry and Scott, cousin Kaylee and her son Mack. He was predeceased by his mom Sam Mackinnon in 2015, his grandparents Margaret Mackinnon in 2000 and Bill Mackinnon in 1975. Highway to hell AC/DC Living easy, living free Season Ticket on a one-way ride Asking nothing, leave me be Taking everything in my stride Don’t need reason, don’t need rhyme Ain’t nothing I would rather do Going down, party time My friends are gonna be there too Hey mama, look at me I’m on my way to the promised land Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Services.
