Ted J. Cullison Obituary

Ted J. Cullison, 85, of Linton, Indiana, passed away with loved ones at his side, on Monday, November 9, 2020 at his home. He was born on March 17, 1935 in Switz City to George F. and Geneva I. (Stephens) Cullison. Ted married Donetta Lou (Phelps) Cullison on September 29, 1954 and after her passing, he married Brenda M. (Gibbs) Padgett Cullison on June 11, 2017.

Ted was a member of Linton First Christian Church, UMWA and Operating Engineers. He was a coal miner at Peabody Coal Co., retiring in 2000 with 36 ½ years of service.

Family left to cherish the memory of Ted include: his wife, Brenda Cullison; daughter, Peggy (Jim) Miller of Linton; step-son, Robert Anthony ‘Tony’ Brinson of Linton; granddaughters, Tanya (Mike) Garber of Carmel and Rici (Bill) Oricks of Linton; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Cullison and George (Debbie) Cullison, both of Linton; three sisters, Rose Marie (Don) Dwyer of Spencer, Dixie Cullison of Washington and Betty (Leonard) Chambers of Illinois; sister-in-law, Ruby Cullison of Dugger; several special nieces and nephews.

Ted was preceded in death by: his first wife, Donetta Lou Cullison; son, Teddy Cullison; granddaughter, Marcole McBeath; grandson, James Allen Miller; great-granddaughter, Oakleigh Rae Oricks; sister, Jennette Faye West and brothers, Dan Cullison and Bob Cullison.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 13, 2020 at Meng Family Funeral Homes, Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Archie Ellett, Greg Orman and Warren Shake officiating. Ted will be laid to rest in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Linton First Christian Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Following CDC guidelines, face masks and social distancing will be required please.
