Phyllis Worthley

HOULTON – P, 99 years, left us on November 8, 2020 after a brief illness, to be with God and those whom she loved so well. Phyllis was born in Crystal, Maine, to Forrest and Mary Howe on October 23, 1921. She was the widow of Gerald N. Worthley. Phyllis enjoyed several hobbies and was particularly fond of Bingo, crocheting, cooking, and playing cards. She was well known in Houlton as the manager of Nissen’s Bakery Thrift Store and remembered as the nice woman who had special treats for the children. She very much enjoyed her visitors and phone calls from her friends and relatives. She is survived by her sister, Joanne Drake of California, her step sons Reg Worthley (Hawaii) and Clint Worthley (Bangor), her grandchildren Liza Beckner (Hodgdon), Lori Castleberry (Arkansas), Robert Campbell (South Carolina), Chris Stone (Tennessee), and her great-grandchildren Brian Ingle (Arkansas) and Rachel Ingle (Arkansas). She is also survived by three great-great grandchildren whom brought her great joy NJ, BD III, Hattie. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Worthley, her children Ellen Campbell and Raymond Stone, her step son Len Worthley and eleven siblings. Phyllis had quite and extensive family including many, many nieces, nephews, step-grand children and cousins and thought of them often. She also leaves a very special friend, Edwina Ganley. Friends may call 10 A.M. November 14, 2020, until it is time to leave for the funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. at New Limerick Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Robertson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program (12 Court St, Houlton) or your local animal shelter.
