William J. “Bill” Mckinney, 88, of Vermillion, SD formerly of White City, KS passed away peacefully at his home on November 9, 2020. Bill was born March 21, 1932 in Prattville, AL to Leo and Ethel (Rawlinson) Mckinney. Bill served in the Army for 2 years followed by a 10-year enlistment in the Airforce based in Wichita, KS. There he met Frances Sellin and they married July 21st, 1957. After leaving the Airforce they settled in White City. Bill worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for John Deere in Herington, KS and then for Neosho Construction in Council Grove, KS until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Frances and brothers: Ira, Donald and Bryant, and sisters: Frances Thorn and Becky Roberts. He is survived by his two daughters, Marsha (Al) Kinzie of Vermillion, Melisa Jones of Chandler, AZ and a grandson Justin (Kim) Campbell and great granddaughters Makayla and Gabby all of Kettering, OH. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 14 at the Sunset Hill Cemetery in Herington, KS. HansenFuneralHome.com/ ymzfh.com
