<p>Bobby Terrell Ray, 71, was born on January 30, 1949 in Meridian, Mississippi. He departed this world on November 7, 2020 at his home in Semmes, AL. Whether known as Bobby, Uncle Bobby, B.T., Pops, or Poppa, he was beloved by many throughout his days.</p> <p>He was preceded in death by his parents: Charles Austin Ray and Jessie Mae Cato Ray; and siblings: Frances Elizabeth Shirley, Mildred Catherine Baker, Jimmie James Ray, Charles Ray Jr., and Judy Carol Marler. He is survived by his brother Thomas Albert Ray, sister Nelda Ann Rouse; former spouse Voncile Ray Thompson; sons Terry L. Ray (Kirsten), Christopher Paul Ray (Celeste), and David Wayne Ray (Nicole); and grandchildren: Brannon Gage Ray, Blaze Ray, Blane Ray, Sebastian Ortego, Laurelin Ortego,&nbsp;Josh Clapper,&nbsp;and Annie Beck.</p> <p>A distinguished Marine Corps. Veteran, Cpl. Bobby T. Ray, a combat engineer, was awarded numerous honors in service of his country, including: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, Combat Action Ribbon, Rifle Marksman Badge, and two Purple Hearts. His post service careers included a machine operator at Scott Paper Company, and a truck driver.</p> <p>Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 11th from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM at Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home in Eight Mile, AL. Funeral service and interment will follow.</p>
