Jean Lindsay Swauger

Jean Lindsay Swauger, 91, of Grantsville, MD, passed away on Monday, November 9, 2020, at the Crofton Care and Rehabilitation Center, Crofton, MD. Born September 26, 1929, in Manor House Newton, England, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Helen (Taylor) Elliot. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter “Buzz” Swauger and one daughter, Margot. Jean was a graduate of Catherman’s Business School, Cumberland, MD, and worked at Liberty Trust Bank, Grantsville and eventually became bank manager of M & T Bank, Grantsville, until her retirement. She is survived by two sons, Gerald (Sue) Beachy, Grantsville; Michael (partner, Arline Link) Swauger, Front Royal, VA; one daughter, Karolyn (George) Swauger St. Clair, Crofton, MD; seven grandchildren, Sean (Debi) Beachy and Jenny (Andy) Knauff, all of Grantsville; Carly (Alex Omlansky) Bell, Liberty Hill, TX; Crystal and Holly Link, Front Royal; Josh (Kitty) Link, Wahiawa, HI; William Link, Marcus Hook, PA; six great-grandchildren, Matthew and Alex Knauff, Evan and Ella Beachy, all of Grantsville; Adelaide and Jensen, Liberty Hill, TX. At her request, she will be cremated and interred in Grantsville Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
