Clarence Alfred 'Brov' Todd Obituary

Clarence Alfred Todd, age 75, passed away unexpectedly at the Roundup Memorial Hospital on November 4, 2020. Family and friends knew him better as Brov Todd. Brov was born February 17, 1945 in Livingston, MT to Donald and Helen Todd. Brov attended all 12 years of school in Reed Point and graduated from Reed Point High School in 1963. Following graduation, he attended Mechanic School in Denver, CO in 1964. On June 20, 1965, he married Sandra Hetland in Big Timber, MT. They then settled at the family ranch and raised their 3 children Brett, Brenda, and Shelly on Work Creek. He fed cattle at the feedlot at the mouth of Work Creek and then converted the feedlot into a 90-sow year around hog operation. In the summer months they also had a custom hay stacking business. In 1980, as a means to supplement the ranch income, he bought his first semi and started hauling flatbed loads in the lower 48 states and Canada. In the early 90’s he semi-retired from trucking and sold firewood in the surrounding communities. In 2006, he moved to Missouri to help his sister Pat and brother-in-law Leonard on their family farm. As an added bonus, his mother Helen also lived nearby, so he could check in on her when needed. Brov liked Missouri, but missing his kids, the mountains, and Montana’s freshwater streams, he decided to come back in 2015. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother Donald (Sonny) Todd and a sister Peggy Todd. Surviving are his son Brett (Julie) Todd of Big Timber MT, and daughters Brenda (Terry) Baumgardner of Harlowton, MT and Shelly (Greg) Schubert of Pierz, MN. His grandchildren include Gary (Heidi), Jackie (Corey). TediJo (Jack), Carlie, Jill, Shelby (Evan), and Seth (Nikki). Great grandchildren include Garrett, Anna, Emme, Elouise, and Colter. He is survived by his sister Pat Wiedmier of Braymer, MO, and many nieces and nephews. A service of remembrance will be held November 14, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Brett and Julie Todd’s at 664 Highway 10 East, Big Timber, MT 59011. Those who wish to donate in Clarence’s name can do so to a memorial of their choice.
