Sherron Anne “Sherry” Sherman

Sherry Sherman, beloved wife of Paul J. Sherman, passed peacefully at CentraState Hospital, Freehold, NJ, on November 2, 2020. She was 81. Sherry was born on January 15, 1939 in Toledo, OH to John R. “Jack” and Ethel May (Chadwick) Garland. She graduated from DeVilbiss High School in Toledo, Ohio in 1957. On January 5, 1961, she married Paul J. Sherman of New York. The pair met in 1959 while both were vacationing in Nassau, Bahamas and fell in love. After marriage, she relocated to New York with Paul, and then to Morganville, NJ in 1969, where they raised their two children Lisa (Brave) and Carl. Sherry had a passion for music and was a wonderful soprano. She was happiest when singing. She shared her gift as a longtime member of the singing groups Sweet Adelines and Women of Song. Sherry also provided solo performances at local nursing homes, and was often accompanied on the piano by her neighbor, Phyllis. She brought residents much joy by singing songs from their era. Sherry loved animals, especially cats, and owned several throughout the years. She also loved to watch the numerous birds that visited her backyard, and she and Paul kept several feeders outside their dining room window. She enjoyed international travel and the highlight of her trips was a safari in South Africa where she got to see all of the wildlife she loved. Sherry was preceded in death by her father, Jack, her mother, Ethel and sister Carol Curtis. She is survived by her husband Paul, two children, Lisa and Carl, her sisters Pamela Shoemaker and Judith Priebe, and two grandchildren, Lee and Sierra Brave. A private family service was held. Condolences may be sent to Paul Sherman.
