Stanley A. Goldman (October 27, 1927-November 5, 2020)

Stanley A. Goldman, age 93 of Roswell passed away on November 5, 2020.

Visitation will take place Wednesday, November 11, 2020 from 10 am to 3 pm at Ballard Funeral Home. Graveside services will take place at South Park Cemetery on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at 11 am.

Stan was born to Martin and Clara Goldman on October 27, 1927 in Belpre, Kansas. The family moved to the Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge where Martin was the refuge’s first caretaker.

Stan was drafted into the United States Army Air Corps and was stationed at RAF Marham near King’s Lynn, UK. It was during his time serving his country that he met the love of his life Brenda Saunders in nearby Hunstanton. He returned to Roswell after his service and was reunited with Brenda and married. They had two children Angela and Brian.

Stan worked at Platt’s drugstore before striking out on his own and opening Stan’s Shaver Service where he repaired many small electronics and household items. Upon retiring Stan enjoyed traveling to his beloved Hunstanton.  He had numerous friends, including Shirley and Ivor Ough and Sue and Barry Dale. Stan was an honorary member of the Hunstanton Civic Society where his contributions will be sorely missed.

Never without his jacket and cap Stan never met anyone he wouldn’t regale with tales of his long and amazing life. He will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.

Stan is preceded in death by his lovely wife Brenda, his parents Martin and Clara Goldman, his brother Luther, and sister Edith. Stan is survived by his sister Margaret Horton, his children Angela Norris and Brian Goldman, his grand children Jason Norris and Michelle Morales and her husband Matthew, and his great grand children Dominic, Sophia, and David Morales.
