Atty. Norman M. Shack, 92, of Andover, died Friday, November 6, at his residence, surrounded by his family. He was born in Andover, May 25, 1928, son of the late David and Rose (Spector) Shack. Raised in Lawrence, Atty. Shack attended Lawrence school system, graduating from Lawrence High School. He earned his bachelor degree from Tufts University and his Law degree from Boston University Law School. For more than fifty years, he had a private practice in the Greater Lawrence area. Atty. Shack was a past president of the Lawrence Bar Association and received the Lawrence Bar Association Leadership Award in 2008. He was a longtime member of Temple Emanuel, Andover. His survivors include his wife of more than 68 years, Roberta “Bobby” (Cohan) Shack of Andover, a son, Atty. William Shack and his spouse Marcy of Andover, three daughters, Betsey Goodwin and her spouse George of Providence, RI, Karen Shack of Medford and her late spouse Stacy Kirkpatrick, Nancy Grecoe and her spouse John of Newmarket, NH, five grandchildren, Rachel Shack and her spouse Dr. Robert Rogers, David Shack and his spouse Ashley Hopkins-Shack, Jacob Shack, Molly Zaentz and her spouse Dr. Adam Zaentz, and Michael Goodwin, three great grandchildren, Isabelle Rogers, Chloe and Benjamin Zaentz, a brother-in-law, Marshall Taylor of CA, and several nieces and nephews. Atty. Shack was also the brother of the late Marlene Greenbaum and Ellen Taylor. Due to Covid-19, funeral services were private with burial in Temple Emanuel Cemetery, Lawrence.
