Conrad Lamond “Con” Halbur passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 1, 2020, at his home in Olympia, Washington, surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was born March 28, 1940, to Ben and Irene Halbur in Grand Rapids, Wisconsin. Con enlisted in the U.S. Army July 1957 and was stationed in Guam and Formosa. Upon returning to the United States, he met the love of his life, Sandy Primeau, and they married on January 21, 1961. They moved from Wisconsin to Washington State in 1964, where they raised their three daughters. Con joined Operating Engineers Local 612 in 1970 and worked as a heavy duty equipment mechanic for multiple construction companies in Western Washington. After retiring from his position at Woodworth Construction in 1995, he enjoyed wood working, gardening and time with friends and family. He enjoyed traveling, and loved to RV with neighborhood friends and his Alpenlite RV Club. He also enjoyed cruising with family and friends! Con is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Sandy; his daughters, Tami (Lee) Pennington, Jodi (Gary) Perez, and Krista (Mark) Sumrok; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; his brothers, Gary (Wanda) Halbur, Bruce (Berneil) Halbur and Fran (Betsy) Huntington; and his sister, Pam (Bob) Drawsby. He was predeceased by his father, Ben Halbur; mother and stepfather, Irene and Francis Huntington; and his in-laws, Lawrence and Doris Primeau. A private memorial service will be held November 12, 2020, at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington. A celebration of life may be held when we can gather again.
