Randall Darnell - Gate City, VA Randall Steve Darnell, Sr., 53, Gate City, VA passed away, Friday, November 6, 2020 at his residence of an apparent heart attack. Randall was born October 5, 1967 in Sullivan County, TN Faye (Lane) Darnell and the late Charles Edward Darnell. In addition to his father, Charles Edward “Buck” Darnell his father-in-law, Kenny Pack preceded him in death. Surviving is his wife, Rebecca “Becky” Darnell, Gate City, VA; children, Randall “Steve” Darnell, Jr., Duffield, VA, Brittany Salling and fiancé. Cody Wells, Duffield, VA, Hayley Jones, Gibson County, TN, Aleshia Hillman, Gate City, VA, Jeremiah Gibson, Gate City, VA, and Robert Gearin, Sharon, TN; grandchildren, Layne “Pooh Bug” Salling, Callie “Little Bird” Wells, and expectant baby Wells; mother, Faye (Lane) Darnell, Ft. Blackmore, VA; sisters, Peggy Darnell, Duffield, VA, Regina ”Jenny” Estepp and husband, William, Ft. Blackmore, VA, and Sandra “Sandy” Edwards and husband, Gabriel, Ft. Blackmore, VA; mother-in-law, Barbara Pack, Kenton, TN; father-in-law, Johnny Jones and wife, Lisa, Dyersburg, TN; mother of his children, Steve and Brittany, Patsy Stapleton, Kingsport, TN; niece and nephews, Jasmaine Darnell, William Estepp, Jr. and Toby Estepp; and his special friend, Danny Darnell. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Thursday, November 12, 2020 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Graveside services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m., at Hill Station Cemetery, Ft. Blackmore, VA with Rev. Joe Roberts officiating. Tammy Sanders, Heather Townsend, Rachel Akers, and Sean Thomas will provide the music. William Estepp, William Estepp, Jr., Toby Estepp, Jeremiah Gibson, Aleshia Hillman, Gabriel Edwards, Sean Thomas, Scott Duncan, Aaron Davidson, Palmer Cumbo, and Cody Wells will serve as pallbearers.
