Lawrence A. Gibson

     1934 – 2020

Lawrence Albert Gibson, husband of Sydney (Radcliff) Gibson of Black River Bridge, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at the age of 86.

Born in Auburnville, NB, he was the son of the late Albert and Marjorie (McLenaghan) Gibson.  He was a Machinist with Reliance Reeves in Stratford, ON.  He was later Owner and Operator of Gibson General Store in Bay du Vin and worked for Forestry Service for 17 years.

He is survived by his wife Sydney Gibson; two daughters: Katheryn Robichaud (Robert) of Fredericton and Deborah Gibson of Toronto; one step-son, Michael MacAulay (Melanie) of Miramichi; five grandchildren: Aadam, Aamir, Azeem, Reid and Lane; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Aubrey Gibson (Pat) of Miramichi.  He was predeceased by his parents and infant daughter, Linda.

Visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi on Wednesday from 7-9 PM.  Funeral service was held at Adams Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, November 12, 2020 with Derrick Carnahan officiating.  Music for the service was recorded music and the hymns were Amazing Grace" and "Go Rest High on that Mountain".  The eulogy was presented by Kevin Gibson.

Pallbearers were Brian Savoy, Wayne Atkinson, Jason Rigley, Stephen Glendenning, Bobby Robichaud and Kevin Gibson.  Interment was in the Black River Community Cemetery.

Due to COVID-19 regulations, physical distancing and the continuous wearing of masks are required both indoors and outdoors.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
