Ann Elizabeth Petraitis

Ann Elizabeth Petraitis, 75, of Barrington Hills, IL was born on March 21, 1945 and passed away on November 6, 2020.

Ann was born in Elgin and went on to receive her Bachelor’s degree from Barat College of The Sacred Heart in Lake Forest. She later received her Master’s degree from University of Illinois Champagne-Urbana in 2007. Ann taught at Carmel Catholic High School in Mundelein for 27 years and was Chairman of the Mathematics Department.

She took considerable pride in the family home she built with her late husband Paul. Together they generously welcomed family and friends into their home to relax and celebrate life.

Her greatest joy was the family she had raised. She adored and loved her four children and nine exceptional grandchildren.

She generously shared her kindness, positivity and intelligence with her students, friends, and family. Most of all, Ann enjoyed spending time with her late husband and their family.

Ann was the loving mother of Ellen (nee Petraitis) Potocki, Suzanne (Ryan) Larsen and Mark (Christine) Petraitis; Nana of nine grandchildren: Jack and Jane Bradley and Matthew Clark; Ethan, Tommy and Genevieve Potocki; Camryn Larsen; and Will and Colin Petraitis; dear sister of Philip, Richard (Doral) and David (Barb) Reinert, Mary (Brett) Wardlow and Jane Eaton.

Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Paul M. Petraitis; daughter, Margaret Bradley-Clark; brothers, Jeffrey and Thomas Reinert; and her parents, Richard and Coral Reinert.

Ann will be remembered for her devotion to her family, education, and her faith in God.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 14, from 9:00am until the time of her Funeral Mass at 10:00am at Saint Anne Catholic Community, 120 N. Ela St., Barrington. She will be interred with her husband at Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington.
