Gloria Fousek Saue was born on August 12, 1940 in Clarkfield, Minnesota to Rudolph and Ida (Lynne) Fousek.  She was baptized at Bergen Lutheran Church and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church of Boyd.  She grew up in Boyd and graduated from Boyd High School in 1958. On January 31, 1959 she was united in marriage to Richard Saue at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Montevideo. The couple resided in Montevideo through the entirety of their married life and had three children together: Carrie, Lynn and Tom. Gloria was a stay at home mother who had part time jobs with the Welcome Wagon and Avon while the children were growing up.  When the children were older, she started her career in banking, working first for the First Federal Savings & Loan and then for Minnwest Bank.  She held the positions of both personal banker and Prime Time Director.

Gloria was very active in her church; she served on the Altar Guild, eventually taking over as head of the guild. She was always an active volunteer for various other church functions as well. She enjoyed the many relationships and activities of her homemakers group for many years. Throughout their married lives, Gloria and Richard enjoyed traveling together to Alaska, Switzerland, and other places in Europe. In early days, the family would enjoy camping and snowmobiling together. Gloria’s family remembers that her happy place was her kitchen, not only for cooking and baking but for watching TV, reading the paper, listening to the radio, and even entertaining friends.

Gloria’s greatest pride was the family that she so deeply cherished. She is survived by her three children: Carrie (and Chuck) Grussing of Alexandria, MN, Lynn (and Mark) Allickson of Montevideo, MN, and Tom (and Tina) Saue of Montevideo, MN; nine grandchildren: Jacob (Cara) Grussing, Mitchell (Vamsi) Grussing, Joseph Grussing, Bryce (Kayla) Allickson, Brian Allickson, Gretchen Allickson, Ashley (Derick) Sweno, Jared Saue, and Kamren Saue; seven great-grandchildren: Jonah, Norah, Brooke, Devin, Collin, Cam, Carter: one sister, Claire Ashling of Dawson; brothers-in law: Stan Antilick, Harold Sumner;  sisters-in-law: Shirley Sundlee of Willmar, Carol (George) Waters of Montevideo, Janice (Doug) Boike of Clara City, and Karen (Gary) Voss of Marshall as well as extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard in 2015; great-grandson: Miles Grussing; sisters: Marcella Sumner, Ina (Lawrence) Olson, Judith Antolick, Dorothy (Harris) Lee, and Doris (Fred) Ashling; brother: Robert Fousek.
