<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Juanita Gale Sanger, 88, of Redfield, SD passed away Saturday, November 7, 2020, at the Eastern Star Home in Redfield. &nbsp;Juanita and her twin sister, Bonita, were born on July 9,1932, to Lewis and Wylla (Fogelson) Larson.&nbsp; The twins often stayed with their Grandma and Grandpa Fogelson and Aunt Mora Fogelson on the farm near Frankfort, SD when Wylla became a single parent and needed the help and support of family.&nbsp; During their childhood, the family also lived in Watertown, SD for several years before returning to Redfield.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;</strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>After her graduation from Redfield High School, Juanita attended Northern State College to obtain a teaching degree.&nbsp; She and Duane Sanger were married December 26, 1951, in the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Redfield.&nbsp; During their honeymoon, their car (containing their honeymoon luggage) was broken into and robbed.&nbsp; The couple settled on a farm near Zell, SD and later moved into Redfield.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Juanita started her professional life as a teacher in country school in Spink County.&nbsp; She worked at the Redfield Press for many years and was a member of the South Dakota Professional Press Women. She then bought Flolo&rsquo;s Studio, a gift store and photo studio on Main Street.&nbsp; After that, Juanita worked in the business office at the South Dakota Developmental Center.&nbsp; In 1983, she graduated from Northern State with her Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree and returned to the Developmental Center as a Social Worker.&nbsp; But the vocation she loved the most did not come with a paycheck, but from helping children in the first grade learn to read in Mrs. Carla Olson&rsquo;s classroom.&nbsp;</strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Juanita was a member of the First Congregational UCC and active in Women&rsquo;s Fellowship, Circle, church choir and Trustee. &nbsp;She was a fantastic cook and well known for her baking skills.&nbsp; Everyone always enjoyed her Christmas treats!&nbsp;</strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Juanita is survived by her husband, Duane, now residing in the Eastern Star Assisted Living, and children:&nbsp; Dane (Deb) of Redfield; Lisa (Gregg) Albright of Louisville, CO; and Linae also of Louisville; one grandson, Joshua of Redfield; one granddaughter, Sarah, of Brookings, SD; a very special cousin, Diane Struver of New York, NY; brother and sister-in-law Daelyn and Joyce Sanger of Rockham, SD and six nieces and nephews.&nbsp; She was preceded in death by her father and mother, and her beloved twin sister Bonnie Veal.</strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>A family memorial service will take place in the future as conditions permit.&nbsp; Arrangements have been entrusted to Hyke Funeral Home of Redfield.&nbsp; (www.hykefuneralhome.com)</strong></p>
