Priscilla Thomas Crockett

PRISCILLA T. CROCKETT ROCKPORT………….Priscilla Thomas Crockett, 95, died on Friday, November 6, 2020 at her home in Rockport. Born in Rockport on April 9, 1925, she was the youngest of 11 children born to Annie (Thomas) and Roland Follett Crockett, whose families trace back to the settling of Rockport and Camden. She graduated from Rockport High School in 1944 and attended Boston’s School of Practical Art for a year, then returned home to work with her father, Roland Crockett in his radio and electric shop. In 1946, Priscilla went to work at Tibbett’s Industries working first as an assembler, then group leader, and eventually as a quality assurance inspector on the quality control department. She retired from Tibbett’s in 1996 and was honored for her 50 years of service with a luncheon, an award, and personal congratulations from then Maine Governor Angus King. Throughout her life, Priscilla had many loves – her family, her art, her church, and her love of animals and birds. Priscilla’s paintings demonstrate these loves as she created many beautiful landscapes, still life’s, animal portraits done for friends and clients, and illustrations of Bible stories. For most of her life, Priscilla was a devoted member of the Rockport Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was a Sunday school teacher. More recently, she had been a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Camden. In her retirement, she continued to paint and do illustrations, attend church, but loved nothing better, than to enjoy the scenes from her living room window while sitting next to her soft grey cat, Sophie, watching her gardens, full of birds at the feeders, and delighted by the antics of squirrels, chipmunks, and the occasional fox or raccoon. Priscilla was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Margaret Crockett Carr, Nellie Crockett Staples, Herbert Crockett, Langdon Crockett, Ruth Crockett Nash, Ernest Crockett, Keith Crockett, Vere (Chum) Crockett, Phyllis Crockett Kaler, and Malcom Harvey Crockett. Surviving are nearby nephews and nieces, Charlie & Penny Crockett, Bob & Joyce Smith, John & Sally Crockett, Harold & Pam Crockett, Amy Lowe, Royce & Dottie Carroll, Dave & Betsy Smith, Keith Crockett, Jr., Jeff & Nancy Connon, Dick and Pam Kaler, Ted Kaler, and numerous other members of the extended Crockett family. The family wishes to thank all of the wonderful at home caregivers who so lovingly attended to Priscilla, enabling her to remain in her home . Memorial gifts may be made to PAWS, P.O.
