George Holland Miller Jr.

George Holland Miller Jr, 67, of Knoxville, TN, and former Oak Ridger, died Thursday, November 5, 2020, at Park West Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. He was born September 18, 1953, in Oak Ridge, TN, the son of George H Miller Sr. and Billie D Miller. He graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 1971. Mr. Miller worked for United States Enrichment Corporation for many years, beginning as a janitor and working his way up to a cascade coordinator supervisor, where he retired in 2013. His job took him to Paducah, KY, in 1985, where his two sons grew up. He retired in 2013 and eventually moved back to Knoxville to be closer to his hometown of Oak Ridge, enjoy his retirement with his fiancé, traveling in his RV around the US, and tailgating with the UT roof riders at Tennessee football games each fall; GO VOLS! He was preceded in death by his father and mother. He is survived by fiancée, Janie Felker, formerly of Paducah, KY, now in Knoxville, and her daughter Amber Felker from Paducah, KY; sons, Michael Miller and wife Amanda of Monticello, FL, and Ryan Miller and wife Mickie of Ledbetter, KY; brother, John Miller and wife Shannon of Nashville, TN; sister, Judy Gagliano and husband Steve of Peach Tree City, GA; nephews, Stephen Gagliano and wife Shannon of Senoia, GA and Daniel Gagliano of Nashville; and nieces, Clara Miller and Grace Miller of Knoxville. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 8, 2020 from 6:00 – 8:00pm at Weatherford Mortuary. The funeral is Monday, 1 pm at Weatherford Mortuary and interment will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens. Memorials in his memory can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
