Ronald C. Shepherd, 73, resident of Mahwah, NJ died November 4th, 2020. Born on December 12, 1946 in New York City, he was the son of the late Arthur and Mary Shepherd. Ron grew up in New York, including both the Bronx and Queens, eventually attending Monsignor McClancy Memorial High School, where he ran track and field. Ron graduated from St. Francis College in Brooklyn. Following college, Ron was drafted in the U.S. Armed Forces where he served in the Vietnam War as a Specialist Fourth Class from 1967 to 1969 based in Cuchi, Vietnam and was awarded the Army Commendation and Purple Heart medals. The majority of Ron’s professional career was with IBM, working over 25 years in various sales and marketing roles spanning across their NY, NJ and Honolulu offices. Ron adored sports – most notably the NY Yankees, NY Giants and Notre Dame football. He also had great pride for his family, his dear friends and his faith. Ron is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Mary Ann, daughter Suzanne, son-in-law, Eric and two grandchildren, Luke and Lila. 

Family and friends are invited to pay tribute to Ron on Tuesday, November 10th, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave., Ramsey, NJ. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, November 11th, Veterans Day, at 10 AM at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Ramsey. Entombment will immediately follow at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
