Myrna Beth Jensen Obituary

Myrna Jensen was born in Lovell, Wyoming, on January 10, 1934. She was the third child of Heber McArthur and Zilla Harris McArthur. She grew up in Lovell and married Richard Wirth Jensen from Byron, Wyoming in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on July 10, 1953. With the exception of living a short time in Salt Lake City, Utah, Laramie and Ten Sleep, Wyoming, she lived her life in Byron, Wyoming.

Myrna took advantage of the opportunity for further education with her husband and then six children and returned to the University of Wyoming to attain her Bachelor of Library Science degree. She then enjoyed being the librarian for Rocky Mountain High School.

Myrna was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served in many callings, and was noted for her contributions to music and teaching, while raising her family.  She enjoyed playing the piano and accompanying others, classical music, history, genealogy, word games and puzzles, gardening and growing flowers. She cooked and canned for a large family and made excellent cinnamon rolls and bread.  She will be missed for her kindly, accepting and gentle nature. She did not judge or offend anyone and had many friends.

Myrna is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Richard W. Jensen. Her seven children include Jan Brinkerhoff (Bart) of Powell, WY, Sue Decker (Don) of Pearland TX, Kaye George (Arley) of Cody, WY, Heber Jensen (Eileen) of Burlington, WY, Alma Christiansen (Philip) of St. Cloud, MN, Renee Jensen of Byron, WY and Richard Mac Jensen (Veronica) of Boden, Sweden.  She is also survived by 32 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, numerous dear nieces and nephews, her sister Belva Hanson, brother Newell McArthur (Connie) and sister-in-law Arden McArthur Brailsford (Blaine).  She is preceded in death by her parents Heber and Zilla McArthur, brother Dean McArthur and grandson Aaron Brinkerhoff.

Services will be held Saturday October 20, 2012 at 10 am at the Byron LDS Chapel. Burial will be in the Byron Cemetery.
