Allan H. Boege Obituary

Allan Hilbert Boege was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on Thursday, November 14, 1929. He grew up in the 30s and 40s when things were very simple and neighbors and businesses were so friendly and trusting. His father and mother worked together and worked hard to bring up a family of four boys and two girls, two of which were twins. Allan was the oldest boy. His Catholic upbringing began with Catholic school; kindergarten through 8th grade. He considered himself blessed to be raised Catholic. In September 1948, he entered military service with the Army. He was discharged in January 1950 only to be recalled in September 1950 for the Korean conflict before being discharged again in September 1951. In addition to his Army service, Allan went to work for Western Electric, Co at the age of 17 years and retired after 38 years; not because he wanted to but the because the Bell System was shut down. Allan was blessed to have a very wonderful wife in Lorraine that he loved so much and lost in June 2009. They had a really good life together and he considered her his very best friend. Allan and Lorraine were also blessed with the five most wonderful children; Glen, Scott, Jeffery, Lee Ann, and James. They brought great joy to him his whole life. He considered each of them different and successful in their own way. Allan raised his children in the Catholic faith and may God bless them all their lives. Allan passed away suddenly on the evening of Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at the age of 90 years. He was preceded in death by his parents Hilbert and Florence Boege; wife Lorraine Boege; and grandson Heath Boege Allan is survived by sons Glen (Mary), Scott (Susan), Jeff, and James; daughter Lee Ann (John) Anderson; grandchildren Heather, Erika, and Amy; great-grandchildren Bennett, Brady, and Leslie; brothers Clyde, Paul (Susan), and John (Mary); sisters Audrey Stafford and Joan Miron; special friend Marlene Kramer; nieces, nephews, other family and friends
