Hassel “Maxine” Crisp, 84, of Pocahontas, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. Maxine was born January 30, 1936 in Randolph County to Arley and Julane Tweedy Melton. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Scotty Crisp; and great grandson, Colby Hostler. Maxine is survived by husband of 64 years, Perry Joe Crisp; son, Randy (Lucy) Crisp of Marietta, GA; daughters, Rhonda (Steve) Hostler and Bridget (Derek) Phelps, both of Pocahontas; grandchildren, Amber (Andy) Kunkel of Suwanee, GA, Elizabeth (Ross) Dellenger of Washington DC, Whitney (Caleb) Russ of Thackerville, OK, Olivia (Nate) Wogoman, Heather Hostler, Joseph Phelps, and Evelyn Phelps, all of Pocahontas; and great grandchildren, Ashley Matz of Suwanee, GA, Ally Kunkel of Suwanee, GA, Adam Crisp of Marietta, GA, Lauren Crisp of Marietta, GA, Cambree Russ of Thackerville, OK, and Claudia Russ also of Thackerville, OK. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 8, 2020 from 1:00-2:00 P.M. with services at 2:00 P.M. at Sutton Freewill Baptist Church with Kevin Barnett officiating. Burial will follow at Sutton Cemetery. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Joseph Phelps, Nate Wogoman, Ross Dellenger, Caleb Russ, Derek Clements, and Denny Reed. To follow the directives of Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, masks covering the mouth and nose are required for all persons in Arkansas for all indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to non-household members where social distancing cannot be assured. Those attending will also be asked to sign a contact registry and maintain a social distance.
