Walter Cantrell Jr., 67, of Springfield, died Thursday July 11, 2013 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born January 13, 1946 in Paintsville, Kentucky to Walter and Cova (Jones) Cantrell. He graduated from Meade Memorial High School in Williamsport, Kentucky and attended Moorehead State University. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from July 1965 to July 1971. He worked many years in retail, most recently at Jeff Wyler Auto Mall. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Cova (Jones) Cantrell, his brother Amos Elmo and a sister Mary Lou. He is survived by a loving wife of thirty-seven years Patricia (Campbell) Cantrell, one son Andrew (Rena) Cantrell, two daughters Missy McGee and Amy Smith, all of Springfield, one brother Larry Cantrell, four sisters, Jewell Lee, Fran (Kermit) Collinsworth, Betty (Tony) Letuli and Freida (David) Bolin; grandchildren, Brandon, Brandie, Breanna, Drew and Jordan; one great-granddaughter, Jae'lyn, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. A gathering of family and friends will be held Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME, where services will follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor Mark Martin officiating.
