Waynesville, Irene Evelyn Wyatt, 93. It is with great sadness the family announces the death of Irene Evelyn Wyatt who passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at Autumn Care of Waynesville.

Irene was a native of Haywood County and the daughter of the late James Nutting and Mary Josephine Gaddis Gardner.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Hobert Clyde Wyatt, who passed away in 1995.  She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jimmie Lynn Mann; brother James Gardner; and sister, Pat Harrison.

Irene was a beloved wife, amazing mother, grandmother and friend.  She was employed by Haywood Regional Medical Center and Dr. Virgil Messer as an LPN.

Irene was a life-long member of the Waynesville Seventh Day Adventist Church and was past church treasurer.

She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Bumgarner, and her husband, Danny, of Sylva, and Mary Kathleen Lowery, and her husband, Glenn, of Indian Trail; a son, Hobert Thomas Wyatt, and his wife, Kelly, of Warner Robins, Georgia; two brothers, Bob Gardner of Georgia, and Ronnie Gardner, and his wife, Donna, of Clyde; 15 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2020, at Waynesville Seventh Day Adventist Church, with Reverend Tim Sheridan officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.

The family would like to thank Stephen Powell, PA, and the Autumn Care staff for their exceptional care of Irene over the past two years.
