MT. OLIVE – Lavenia Martin Huggins, 84, died at home Wednesday, November 4, 2020 after a long illness. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Hardwick Funeral Home, will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral service in the Mt. She was a graduate of Aynor High School and Columbia College, and enjoyed a professional career as a home economics teacher at Mullins High School. She was an active member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she played piano, sang in the choir and served as teacher of the Dorcas Sunday School Class for many years.
Mrs. Huggins loved travel, and she was able to visit most of the 50 states during her lifetime. She loved music, and especially enjoyed singing hymns and playing the piano with her family. She loved spending time outdoors on her farm, in her yard and gardens and fishing with her husband and family. She was a servant in her community as she was always willing and eager to help people whenever she could. Her deep love for her Lord was seen in her servant heart and her love for her family and friends.

Olive; a daughter, Robin Poston (John) of Conway; three grandchildren, Henry Poston, Mary Poston and Abby Poston all of Conway; and two brothers, Eldon Martin and Windell Martin (Pat) both of Galivants Ferry.
