<p>Goldie Lucille Calahan, nee Helms, of Cuba, MO, previously of Steelville, MO, was born on Tuesday, March 24, 1931 in Gasconade, MO to John David Helms and Alma Elizabeth (Anderson) Helms.&nbsp; She passed away at her home in Cuba, MO on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at the age of 89 years, 7 months and 11 days.<br /> <br /> Goldie grew up in Gasconade, MO and as a child picked grapes for Welchs.&nbsp; She married Madison &quot;Guy&quot; Calahan on November 15, 1948 and to this union five children were born.&nbsp; She was a homemaker until her husband, Guy, passed away in 1977 and then had to work to provide for her family.&nbsp; She worked at Sullivan Shoe Factory and then as a custodian at Steelville Schools until she retired. &nbsp;Goldie loved to go to church and was a member of ACTS Church in Steelville, MO. She enjoyed baking and cooking.&nbsp; She liked to watch birds, loved flowers and also watching Hallmark Christmas movies.&nbsp; Most of all, Goldie loved her family and ACTS Church family.<br /> <br /> She was preceded in death by her parents John and Alma Helms; parents-in-law Madison &ldquo;Jack&rdquo; and Maude Calahan; husband Madison Guy Calahan; daughter Brenda Brown; brothers Harold Helms, John Helms (first wife Goldie) (second wife Jenny) and Vernon Helms; sister Bonnie (Arthur) Hines; brother-in-law Bud Calahan; sister-in-law Ethel (Turtle) Crawley; grandson JR Brown;&nbsp;great grandsons Zackery Brown and Jordan Calahan.<br /> <br /> She is survived by her children Jim (Martha &ldquo;Shelly&rdquo;) Calahan, Dennis (Stephanie) Calahan and Tim Calahan all of Steelville, MO and Connie (Dan) Bell of Cherryville, MO; son-in-law Ed Brown of Belleville, IL; special sister Bonnie (Matt) Blake of Steelville, MO; sister-in-law Linda Helms of Steelville, MO; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 17 great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.<br /> <br /> Visitation was&nbsp;from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at ACTS Church, Steelville, MO. Home Going&nbsp;immediately followed&nbsp;at 2:00 PM with Rev. Mark Godbey officiating.&nbsp; Funeral service was&nbsp;livestreamed on Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville&#39;s Facebook Page.&nbsp; Burial was&nbsp;at Steelville Cemetery.&nbsp; Memorials were suggested&nbsp;to ACTS Church (11896 Hwy 19, Steelville, MO 65565.<br /> <br /> Pallbearers were&nbsp;Aaron Godbey, Blake Kestler, Joseph Setzer, Scott Calahan, James Setzer and Michael Brown.<br /> <br /> Arrangements under the direction of Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO.</p>

Goldie Lucille Calahan, nee Helms, of Cuba, MO, previously of Steelville, MO, was born on Tuesday, March 24, 1931 in Gasconade, MO to John David Helms and Alma Elizabeth (Anderson) Helms.  She passed away at her home in Cuba, MO on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at the age of 89 years, 7 months and 11 days.

Goldie grew up in Gasconade, MO and as a child picked grapes for Welchs.  She married Madison "Guy" Calahan on November 15, 1948 and to this union five children were born.  She was a homemaker until her husband, Guy, passed away in 1977 and then had to work to provide for her family.  She worked at Sullivan Shoe Factory and then as a custodian at Steelville Schools until she retired.  Goldie loved to go to church and was a member of ACTS Church in Steelville, MO. Visitation was from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at ACTS Church, Steelville, MO. Home Going immediately followed at 2:00 PM with Rev. Mark Godbey officiating.  Funeral service was livestreamed on Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville's Facebook Page.  Burial was at Steelville Cemetery.  Memorials were suggested to ACTS Church (11896 Hwy 19, Steelville, MO 65565.

Pallbearers were Aaron Godbey, Blake Kestler, Joseph Setzer, Scott Calahan, James Setzer and Michael Brown.
