RUMFORD – Mr. Reginald J. Bellegarde, 79, died Tuesday November 3, 2020 at the Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. He resided on Kerr Street in Rumford. Born in Rumford, Maine on May 25, 1941 he was a son of Cyrille and Grace (Tanguay) Bellegarde. He attended Rumford schools. Reggie worked as a truck driver and equipment operator for the Maine Department of Transportation for over 35 years until his retirement in 1995 and then worked for 7 years as a carpenter for James Knight. He was a communicant of the Parish of the Holy Savior St Athanasius St John Church and enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting and fishing. Reggie was married in Rumford, ME on June 25, 1960 to Carol Fay Simboli who died on January 23, 2011. Survivors include a son David and his wife Beth of Rumford, a daughter, Sheila Bellegarde and her partner Kurt Feiereisen of Rumford, grandchildren Garrett Cowett of Portland, ME, Gabrielle Johnson and husband Garrick of Rumford, David Bellegarde II and wife Kara of Wilton, Dylan Bellegarde and wife Emily of KY and Matthew Bellegarde of Rumford, great grandchildren, Trevor Bellegarde of Canton, Tori Bellegarde of Canton, Madalyn and Molly Bellegarde of KY, brothers, Roland Bellegarde and wife Mary Ann of Rumford, Fern Bellegarde of Rumford, Lionel Bellegarde and wife Gloria of ME, Noel Bellegarde of Dixfield, a sister Mary Jane Gauvin of Springfield, MA. He was predeceased by his wife Carol, Sisters, Theresa Prevost, Frances Gallant and Georgette Holmquist, brothers, Norman, Eugene and Conrad.
