Myrna M. Beal

Myrna Beal passed away peacefully in her care home in Wichita, KS on November 1, 2020 at the age of 91. She was born the daughter of Helen (McMullin) and Cleal Day in Wellington, KS on August 23, 1929. Myrna and Floyd Beal were united in marriage in Wellington, KS on August 10, 1968. Together they celebrated 44 years of marriage. She was employed for several years doing clerical work at St. Lukes Hospital in Wellington and retired shortly after marrying Floyd to take on the role of full-time homemaker and mother to their children: Jerry, Mike and Deborah. Following Deborah's passing in 1981, Floyd and Myrna adopted Deborah's son, Isaac. In 1987, Myrna and Floyd moved to a farm just South of Wellington where they enjoyed gardening and the tranquility of being out in the country. After Floyd's passing in 2012, Myrna moved to a retirement home in Wichita where she enjoyed lots of activities including bingo, painting and jigsaw puzzles. Myrna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, step-daughter, Deborah (Beal) Abang and niece, Linda Day. In addition to numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a loving church family, she is survived by her brothers: Arlis Day and Russell Day of Wellington, Kansas; son, Jerry Pile (Connie) of Wichita, KS; son, Mike Pile (Jo) of Tyler, TX; son, Isaac Beal of Wichita, KS, grandchildren: Austin Pile (Laura) of Arroyo Grande, CA, Quintin Pile (Molly) of Greenville, SC, Allison Nohr of Kansas City, KS, Matthew Pile of Wichita, KS, Joel Pile (Diania) of Haysville, KS, Janelle Fleetwood of Wichita, KS, Jeff Pile (Kindra) of Haysville, KS, Makaela Beal of Olathe, KS and Dr. Sarah Abang-Hayes (Anthony) of San Antonio, TX, great-grandchildren: Brooke and Bailey Fleetwood of Wichita, KS, Ellie Pile of Haysville, KS, Benjamin, Finley and Gracie Pile all of Haysville, KS, Lyric, Noble and Sky Hayes all of San Antonio, TX. A public visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 5, 2020 with the family present to receive guests from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Please adhere to the current public gathering recommendations and wear a facemask when attending. A private graveside service will be held at Sumner Memorial Gardens, Wellington, KS. Memorials have been established in her name and memory with Carpenter Place Children's Home or the Westlink Church of Christ Missionary Fund.
