Billie C. Masterson Obituary

Billie C. Masterson Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Nana, Billie C. Masterson, 94, long time resident of Bonner Springs, KS, passed away on October 31, 2020. Billie was born in Spiro, OK on June 13, 1926, and was the eldest of two daughters born to Luther and Mary Hamby. She was married to James Masterson for 51 years and they had 3 children, Rick, Peggy and Luther. She worked as a bookkeeper for Birmingham Prosser for 11 years and Mid-Continent Theater Supply for 18 years while raising her family. She was also a member & former president of American Legion Post #199. After retiring she volunteered at Providence Medical Center. Jim and Billie enjoyed traveling, spending time with friends and family and relaxing at The Lake of the Ozarks. Billie was sharp, quick witted and loved an adventure. She had a large social circle and enjoyed gathering with them and family. It was not unusual to see her concentrating on a crossword puzzle which she almost always completed. Billie looked forward to attending services at Cornerstone Family Worship until her health prevented her from attending. In later years Billie lived at Pebblebrook Senior Independent Living where she enjoyed the community and friends she made there. She loved her family and always made them a priority. There are no words to how much she will be missed by family and friends; she was definitely one of a kind. Billie is preceded in death by her husband James Masterson, son Luther Masterson, son-in-law Carl Lingo and sister Mary Lou Stockton. Mrs. Masterson is survived by son Rick Masterson and his wife Kathy, daughter Peggy Lingo, daughter-in-law Julie Masterson, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Billie was the anchor of the family and will be deeply missed. Graveside Funeral Service will be 3:00p.m., November 4, 2020 at Chapel Hill Memorial Garden Cemetery (701 N 94 St, Kansas City, KS) with the Pastor, Ron Swaim of Cornerstone Family Worship, officiating. Memorials may be given to Cornerstone Family Worship. The service will also be streamed on Facebook Live from the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/AldenHarringtonFH/
