Shelby Elayna Plumley Pocahontas, Arkansas Obituary

Shelby Elayna Plumley

Shelby Elayna Plumley, 20, of Pocahontas, Arkansas passed away on Monday, November 2, 2020. At her young age, she had graduated from Pocahontas High School in 2018 with a High Honors Diploma. She had obtained a Certified Nursing Assistant and Phlebotomy license during high school. Shelby took some time to practice as a CNA and decide what she really wanted from her education. Once she decided, she was quick to obtain her bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Colombia Southern University in May 2020 with an exemplary GPA. Shelby was immensely proud of all she had achieved at such a young age. Shelby was born on Friday, January 21, 2000 at Reynolds Army Community Hospital in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma to her adoring parents John and Amanda Plumley. Shelby was beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, girlfriend, and friend. She was loving and compassionate and enjoyed making other people happy. Shelby had a beautiful smile that could light up any room and a sass that left her mark anywhere she went. Shelby loved her family, enjoyed family game nights, spending time with her boyfriend Parker and taking on any task that she put her mind to. Shelby held a love for her EMS family that will not be easily replaced. Shelby could spend hours planning events for others, rocking babies, and just proving selfless service to others. Her favorite bible verse was Psalms 46:5, “God is within her, She will not fail.” Shelby was a wonderful girlfriend and was learning quickly what it means to support another person and begin a life of her own. Shelby’s boyfriend, Parker Sluder, of Walnut Ridge, AR, was a great support to her and she leaned on him heavily as they were learning to build a life together. This relationship was also supported by Parker’s parents, Dennis and Belinda Sluder, of Walnut Ridge, of whom Shelby spoke highly. Shelby was the beloved niece to Craig (Sonja) Sisco of Las Vegas, NV. She was planning to spend her 21st birthday on the Strip with her favorite Auntie. Shelby loved her cousins, Shaun and Ashley Sisco, of Las Vegas with a zeal like no other. Shelby was blessed with three other aunts during her life: Rena, Kristin, and Sarah (Tracy). Shelby knew she was deeply loved by her aunts and would always reminisce about the playground obstacle course that the families often shared when together. Shelby also leaves behind cousins: Nicktoria, Megan, Brittany, Ryan, Erin, Derek, Landon, and Alaina. The relationship that Shelby had with her grandparents was truly one of a kind. She was the first grandchild to Jerry and Georgia Sisco, of Pocahontas. She had a deep love for her Papaw, who offered her many life lessons and unmistakable love. She was her Mamaw’s baby, as her Mamaw provided much care for her as an infant and child, while her parents were working. These are two bonds that will never be broken. Shelby was also the granddaughter of her father’s loving parents, Jeffery and Penelope Plumley, of Beaver Creek, OH. Although she was not their first grandchild, she held a special place in their hearts. Shelby greatly enjoyed the road trips that were required to visit Nana and Papa. Shelby was a fabulous sister to her sister, Cheyanne Plumley, and her brother, Remington Plumley. She always had advice, a smile, or simple support to provide them. When Shelby was around, you always knew Remington was not far away and that Shelby was most likely trying to get Cheyanne’s attention. This trio was a force to be reckoned with. Shelby took great lesson in Christlike life and becoming a young lady from her bonus older sister, Callie (Justin) Winkles of Newport, AR. Shelby had a great love for Callie’s children, Anthony and Abigail. Most of all, Shelby Elayna Plumley, was one of the most magnificent children any parents could ask to be blessed with. She was the oldest of the Plumley children and made her mark from the beginning. Shelby entered the world to two young and scared parents with no idea how to raise a daughter. She taught them many lessons on how to love deeper, how to learn together, and how to NEVER give up. Shelby was always respectful and set a great example of her raising and became a wonderful role model for her siblings. John and Amanda never doubted that when Shelby said she was going to achieve something, she would. Shelby is preceded in death by her great-grandmothers, Alma Sisco and Vera Plumley; her great-aunts Glenda Stayton and Marjorie (Ann) Mathis; her great-uncle Robert Sisco; and two amazing cousins Jason Gifford and Johnny Stayton. Shelby Elayna will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. All services will be held in the chapel of Fears Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Thursday, November 5, 2020. Shelby’s Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 am on Friday, November 6,, 2020; Nelson Henderson officiating. Burial will follow immediately in Randolph Memorial Gardens. Shelby’s family has chosen some of the most influential men in her life to assist with carrying her to her final resting spot. These men are her Uncle Danny Gifford; beloved EMS family members John Paul Thielemier, Kevin Smith, and Joel Schnick; her dear cousin Brandon Sisco; and her boyfriend’s great father, Dennis Sluder. Honorary pallbearers are Shelby’s amazing Papaw, Jerry Sisco; her loving brother, Remington Plumley; her favorite Uncle Craig Sisco; her astounding Uncle Donald Sisco; and her beloved boyfriend, Parker Sluder. All friends and family are welcome to gather at the Sisco Home located at 83 Brandi Trail in Pocahontas. Discussion has been made and ALL are welcome at any service or the gathering after. Shelby’s family would like to stress that ALL are welcome and would be appreciated to stop by to any of the memorials for Shelby and reminisce with her deeply saddened family.
