View Loretta's Funeral Program Loretta Sitting Crow, 33, of Fort Thompson, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Sanford USD Medical Center and Hospital in Sioux Falls due to health problems. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 30, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Thompson. Burial will follow at Christ Episcopal Cemetery, Fort Thompson. A wake service will be 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 29, 2020 at the church. Mask and social distancing are highly encouraged at both services. Loretta L. Sitting Crow was born on December 26, 1986 to Victor L. Sitting Crow and Katherine M. St. John. She attended Crow Creek Elementary and Crow Creek High School. Loretta lived briefly in Omaha Nebraska, and Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She was a lifelong resident of Fort Thompson and a member of Crow Creek Sioux Tribe. As a young girl Loretta enjoyed attending powwows and participated as a fancy shawl dancer. Loretta is survived by her daughters, Liberty His Law and Eternity Crawford; sons, Victor Sitting Crow, II and Lorenzo Sitting Crow; her companion, Allen Middletent (073); siblings: Clay (Dana) Crawford and Family, Vicki Crawford and Family, Marlon "Autha" (Lorie) Sitting Crow and Family, Michael Hawk, Fae (Michael) Johnson-Hawk, and Jasmine (Sean) Hawk; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Loretta was preceded in death by her son, Noah Lucas Sitting Crow-Velasquez; father, Victor L. Sitting Crow; mother, Katherine M. St. John; brother, Myron L. Sitting Crow; and nephew, Darren L. Sitting Crow. Luze Funeral Home of Highmore has been entrusted with Loretta's arrangements.
