Donald L. Keller Obituary

Donald L. Keller, age 80, of Linton, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2020, at Shakamak Good Samaritan Center in Jasonville.  He was born in Linton on Sept. 24, 1940, the son of Don Jr. & Betty June (Lacer) Keller.

Don was a 1958 graduate of Linton-Stockton High School.  He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1961 and served his country for 39 years.  He also worked at Peabody Coal Company and N.W.S.C. Crane, retiring in 2010.

Don was a member of the First United Methodist Church, V.F.W. #7118, and the American Legion Post #22, all of Linton.

He loved traveling, and enjoyed fishing, camping, took pride in his home, decorating for every holiday, and loved to be with his family.

Don is survived by a daughter, Kathy (Randy) Kent of Linton, a son, Keith (Patty) Keller of Farmersburg, grandchildren, Brenda Payne, Danielle (Dustin) Coulter, DeLisa Payne, Derek (Rachel) Payne, Heather Keller, Ashely Cesinger, and Josey Tharp, nine great-grandchildren, two brothers, John Ben (Pauletta) Keller and Bill (Maleah) Keller, and a sister, Scarlett (Bob) Barker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife whom he married Nov. 4, 1962, Barbara (Gentry) Keller, a son, Kenneth B. Keller on June 16, 2005, and a great-grandson, Bryson, and a brother, Tommy Lacer.

Funeral service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 5, 2020, with Nyle Riegle officiating.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton, with military rites by the Linton American Legion Post #22.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 A.M. until the time of service.
