Frederick Albert Laskey

On October 31, 2020, Frederick Albert Laskey passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital and will now be reunited with his loved ones. Freddie was born in Chipman, NB on June 29, 1944 son of the late Albert and E. Ethel (Johnston) Laskey. Freddie is survived by his loving wife Jean and they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on September 26, 2020. Freddie will also be sadly missed by his sister Laura (Hugh) Morton; sister-in-law, Linda (John) Wiggins; brother-in-law, Michael (Annette) Gibb; several nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. Freddie started his working career in the woods followed by employment with the Dept. of Natural Resources and the D.O.T. He enjoyed playing his guitar, singing, watching Tribal Trails and other gospel programs. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed seeing the activities of the birds and squirrels in his backyard. Special thanks to Wanda Boyne and Hayward McDonald for their friendship. Predeceased by his sisters, Bessie (Sylvanus) Stewart, Margaret (Tom) O’Quinn, Jean (Freeman) Cole and Doris Hann (John Corbett); brothers, Oscar (Leona) Laskey, Archie (Marina) Laskey and Garnet (Pearl) Laskey. A Graveside Celebration of Freddie’s life will be held at the Red Bank United Cemetery on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Gerald Burke officiating. Donations to the Chipman United Church, Fredericton SPCA or the charity of choice would be greatly appreciated by the family. To honor and protect our loved ones from Covid-19, meeting the guidelines of Public Health, please wear a mask and respect social distancing.
