Eugene Smirl

Eugene Smirl passed away on 10-22-2020, after a short illness. He is survived by his son Brion (Rita), daughter Erin (Eric), and predeceased by his eldest son Kevin. He was beloved by his grandchildren Kelly, Shea, Brittany, Noel and great grandsons Triton and Kevin Born on 2-14-1924 in San Francisco, CA, he attended grammar schools and graduated from Galileo High School. Gene was a patriot who served his country during WWII as a naval officer. He went on to further his career in public service with the San Francisco Sheriffs Department, where he remained for 35 years. He retired with the rank of Sergeant. He was a pillar of the community, who treated all with respect. He enjoyed many activities during his golden years of retirement. He loved to travel, spend time with family and friends, dance with Caroline and karaoke with Bonnie at the Moose Lodge. He especially loved his Giants, 49ers and Warriors, and rarely missed a game. His was a life well lived. He was our biggest fan and we will miss him dearly.
