Stephen M. Salanik Obituary

Stephen Michael Salanik, of Crownsville, Maryland passed away on October 29, 2020. He was born on October 5, 1948 in Philadelphia, PA to Michael and Lena Salanik and is survived by his loving wife, June; seven brothers and sisters, Rita, Robert, Janet, Michael, James, John, and Eileen; six children, Susan, Kathleen, Leisa, Lorraine, Steve, and Andrew; and seven grandchildren, Owen, Christopher, Finnegan, Hayden, Henry, Estelle, and Miles. Stephen served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was stationed in Okinawa. He was active in the American Legion, VFW, and Marine Corps League. He worked as a computer specialist with the federal government and retired after more than 30 years of service. He was a volunteer police officer in the 1970s, and was later heavily involved in his community of Arden on the Severn by serving on the board of Arden Beaches and as a youth soccer coach. Private services will be held for the family and he will be interred at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the Shriner’s Hospital of Philadelphia or the Salvation Army.
