Wilma S. Simpson Obituary

Wilma S. Simpson, 97, of Kansas City, Missouri and formally of Eldon, Missouri passed away Thursday, October 29, 2020.  She was born April 18, 1923 in Eldon, Missouri the daughter of the late Charlie and Opal (Robbins) Porter.  On July 23, 1940 in Tuscumbia, Missouri she was united in marriage to Hershel “Doc” Lee Simpson who preceded her in death on September 25, 2005.

 

Survivors include,

 

Daughters, Judi Tucci of Kansas City, KS; Anne Jones of Kansas City, MO

 

Five Grandchildren; Thirteen Great Grandchildren & Nineteen Great Great Grandchildren

 

A son, James “Bo” Simpson, two sisters, Edna Witt & Jean Cotten, and two brothers, John & Arthur Porter preceded her in death.

 

Wilma was a member of the Rocky Mount Baptist Church of Rocky Mount, MO.  She was also a member of the Town & Country Garden Club and was an avid quilter and a Kansas City Royals fan.

 

Visitation will be Sunday, November 1, 2020 from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.

 

Funeral Service will be Monday, November 2, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO with Rev. Dan Duckworth officiating.  Burial will follow at the Eldon City Cemetery.

 

Memorials in her name are suggested to the Rocky Mount Baptist Church.
