William Eugene Havens Jr, 68 of Union Beach, passed away Thursday October 29, 2020 at Bayshore Community Hospital of Holmdel.

He was born in Long Branch to the late William E. Havens Sr. and Stella (Lewandowski) Havens.

He was a high school graduate and would go on to proudly serve his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War era and later peacetime.  

Throughout his service time he achieved the rank of Sergeant as a tactical Aircraft maintenance specialist.

After his discharge in 1972, he would go on to work doing loss prevention for Shop Rite, retiring from their Hazlet location.

William is survived by his children Tony-Marie Havens, Catherine Havens, William E. Havens III, John Havens and stepchildren Michael and Brian Jerden; a sister Cathy Casperson and nieces Kimberley and Melissa Casperson, Susan Blanchard and her husband Noah, and Christina Karol and her husband Glen.

Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation for William on Thursday November 5, 2020 from 10AM to 12PM.  

Interment will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran's Cemetery of Wrightstown, New Jersey.
