Joseph "Martin" Brocker Obituary

JOSEPH MARTIN BERNARD BROCKER April 16th, 1961 - October 22nd, 2020

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, brother, uncle and friend, after a battle with cancer. Marty was predeceased in death by his parents, Joseph and Jean Brocker, his brother Russell and Marilyn, their son Dean, Marty's children, Travis, Tyson, and Teleaha. Marty is survived by his daughter Ashley, his brother Danny (Sharron) sisters Ann (Erine), Janet (Leroy), Noel, and Karen (Randy) and many nieces, nephews and cousins, along with great nieces and nephews.

Marty grew up in the Alpine area. He worked in the bush most of days his last place of employment was an employee at Spruce Products Limited where he started off as a cleaning personal and then moved into the position of a re-saw operator. Marty had an amazing love for animals along with his amazing love for the old style of music from the two step to the polka if a song came on to match his type of dance he was up on the floor dancing away or dancing within his chair he never had a muscle within his body that wasn't moving to the beat. Marty played many sports such as baseball in the summer, he spent summers camping and fishing with family and friends. And curling in the winter, and when he got diagnosed with cancer he replaced curling with bowling and spent many days and nights building wooden models along with puzzles and many other crafts at home. He loved his rodeo events especially bidding with family during chuckwagons on who would cross the finish line first. He also loved watching the Heavy Horse pull.

As was his wishes, Marty has been cremated and a celebration of life will be held for him at a later date once Covid restrictions have been lifted.

Flowers, cards may be given to the family and/or a donation can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba / Cancer Care Manitoba.
