Ellis James "Sam" Tennant, 62, a resident of Morgantown, passed from this life Thursday, October 29, 2020, at his home surrounded by his family. Sam was born Wednesday, October 20, 1957 in Morgantown, a son of the late Melvin E. Tennant and Nellie P. Shriver Turney of Youngstown, OH. He married the former Cynthia Diane Marks who survives. Also left to cherish his memory are three children, Derek, Jessie, and Travis Tennant, four grandchildren, eight siblings, Patricia Thompson, Daryl Tennant, Donna Averill, Barbara Tennant, Melvin Tennant Jr., Darlene Tennant, Joseph Tennant, and Ellen Turney, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Sam in death besides his father was one sister, Eva Tennant. Sam’s request for cremation was honored.
