Austin Ray Jackson

Austin Jackson, 12, of Leavenworth, passed away at home Saturday, Oct. 24, 2020. He was born July 15, 2008. He is survived by his mother, Tara Jackson; three sisters, Nora, Aven and Evelyn; grandparents, Ronda and Donnie Jackson of Leavenworth, Susan and Robert Simanowitz of Leavenworth, and Robert Windham of Junction City; as well as many extended family members on both sides of his family. Austin was accompanied in death by his friend, partner in great adventures, teammate and brother, Logan Jackson. Austin attended Lansing Middle School as a 7th grader. He was a gifted soccer player and athlete, a country music fan, and he loved animals and took great pride in taking care of his dog Maggie, as well as a collection of turtles and other reptiles. Austin had a mischievous smile and was always very animated when playing with his friends and cousins. One of his favorite things to do was play Fortnite. Austin always radiated kindness and a fun positive energy. Visitation beginning with praying the rosary will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, 2020, at St. Francis de Sales Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be private, for family only. The funeral mass will be live streamed on St. Francis de Sales website at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, 2020, for public viewing. Masks are required. Arrangements in care of R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Chapter Fund, Frontier Community Credit Union, Leavenworth, Kan.
