Dale D. Spear Age 86 of Swartz Creek passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at his home. A committal service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Dale was born on March 12, 1934 to Frank and Iola Spear in Birch Run. He served in the United States Navy, and he worked for General Motors for over 28 years. Dale married Betty J. Parks on April 6, 1963; they celebrated 42 years of marriage before she predeceased him in 2005. During his life, Dale loved hunting, especially for coons. He enjoyed watching western movies, traveling, and site-seeing. Dale once hitchhiked all the way to California for work while he was serving in the Navy. He was a good cook and also enjoyed boxing. He attended New Life Lutheran Church. Dale is survived by his children, Steve Spear and Lance Spear; his grandchildren, Monica and Julie; his great-grandson, Aaron; and his siblings, Jack Spear and Holly Spear. He is predeceased by his wife, Betty Spear; his son, Tony Spear; his parents; and his brothers, Don and Larry Spear.
