John Read Myers
John " Johnny" Read Myers, age 91 of Wewoka passed away Thursday, October 29, 2020 in Altus, OK. He was the first child born in Wewoka Hospital on October 24, 1929 to the late George Myers and Mae Myers. He was a graduate of Butner high school.<br /><br />On August 15, 1947 he married Dovie Lois Gleason in Wewoka, OK. She preceded him in death on November 9, 2018.<br /><br />Johnny worked many years in the oilfield and as a farmer. He enjoyed racing horses and coon hunting. He enjoyed visiting with his family and friends.<br /><br />Preceding Johnny in death is wife, Dovie, daughter, Connie Stidham Davis and son, Randy Myers..<br /><br />Those left to cherish his memories are grandchildren Chris Myers and wife Tammy of Velma,OK, Nicki Mares of Duncan, OK, Jerod Stidham and wife Genny of Mangum, OK, Melissa Arch and husband Nathan of St. Paul, MN; great-grandchildren Connor Stidham, Allie Stidham, Maddison Arch, Avery Arch, Phalen Arch, Brodie Williams, Coy Myers, Phoenix Mares, and Hinley Mares; daughter-in-law Dawn Myers of Duncan, OK, and a host of other relatives and friends.<br /><br />Graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at Little Cemetery.<br /><br />Arrangements by Stout-Phillips Funeral Home<br />Obituary
