<p><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;"><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Norman Charles Christ Tiemann, age 87, of Richview, Illinois, passed away from pneumonia (not COVID) at 11:32 P.M., on October 28, 2020 at SSM Health St. Mary&#39;s Hospital in Centralia, Illinois.&nbsp; He was born on May 28, 1933 in Centralia, Illinois, the son of William and Emma (Kottkamp) Tiemann.&nbsp; </strong></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;"><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Norman and Sally (Suhl) met on a blind date in August of 1982, and after a whirlwind courtship were married on November 27, 1982, in Centralia Illinois.&nbsp; She survives him in Richview, Illinois.</strong></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;"><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>In addition to his loving and caring wife of 37 years, Norman is survived by his children, Bradley Tiemann and wife Tonya of Richview, Illinois and Vickie McDaniel and husband Steve of Richview, Illinois; stepsons, Keith Gebke and wife Nina of Richview, Illinois and Todd Gebke and wife Gennie of Belleville, Illinois; grandchildren, Craig McDaniel and Jennifer Nesbit, Adam Tiemann and wife Traci, &nbsp;Amie Green and husband Matt; step-grandchildren, Mark McDaniel and wife Chrissie, Brandon Gebke and wife Sarah, Caleb Gebke and Kerrigan Amos, Megan Gebke and Carly Gebke; &nbsp;great-grandchildren, Tylor and wife Cindy, Gracin, Chase, Anniston, Lilah, Grant, Kent, Hunter and Eliana; sister, Lavern Fortmeyer and sister-in-law, Judy Seger and husband Jon.</strong></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;"><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>In addition to his parents, Norman was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Henry Lester; brother-in-law Dean Fortmeyer; Father and mother-in-law, Bernard and Opal Suhl; brother-in-law, Don Suhl and brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Kathy Shanafelt.</strong></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;"><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Norman proudly served his country for two years after being drafted into the U.S. Army.&nbsp; He retired in 1982 as a blacksmith helper from the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad after 27 years of service.&nbsp; He also retired from farming, his greatest love.&nbsp; He loved watching his cattle.&nbsp; Norman was a 66 year lifetime member of Centralia American Legion Post 446.&nbsp; He was a honorary member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 76, Bear&#39;s Local 1, Centralia Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. 493 and his second home, Centralia Moose Lodge 1219.&nbsp; Norman was of the Christian faith and attended St. Mary&#39;s Catholic Church in Centralia, Illinois and Frieden&#39;s United Church of Christ in Irvington, Illinois.&nbsp; He enjoyed seeing the shows at Branson and watching his favorites shows, Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Family Feud and Matlock.&nbsp; He lived all of his life in Richview, Illinois.</strong></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;"><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Celebration of Life Services for Mr. Norman Charles Christ Tiemann will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 1, 2020, at Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois with Reverend Matt Green officiating.&nbsp; As a result of current national health circumstances, friends are invited to join with Mr. Tiemann&rsquo;s family via Live Stream at www.moranfuneralhome.net on his obituary page at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 1, 2020. &nbsp;Interment will follow in Frieden&rsquo;s United Church of Christ Cemetery in Irvington, Illinois. Military Rites accorded by the Centralia American Legion Post 446 and Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 2055.&nbsp; Friends may pay their respects to Norman, sign the guest book or make a memorial contribution from 12:00 P.M. until the time of services at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 1, 2020, at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.&nbsp; The family ask those who are attending to please be mindful of social distancing, wear a mask, and take any health precautions necessary to ensure a healthy environment.
