Larry Junior Reid Accomac, Virginia Obituary

Larry Junior Reid

Larry Junior Reid, beloved son of Bessie Reid and the late Paul Lee Reid, was born on August 7, 1964 in Accomack County, Virginia. He departed this life on Monday, October 26, 2020. He was educated in the Accomack County Public Schools and was a graduate of Onancock High School. He was a dedicated employee at Davis Disposal for over twenty years. He confessed his life to Christ at New Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Painter, Virginia. He was always willing to help others, especially the elderly. Larry truly loved his family, especially his wife. He loved to host and attend family gatherings. Larry loved music and dancing, however riding his bike was dearest to his heart. He was a fun and happy person and was a joy to be around. When he walked in a room it was never a dull moment, you were bound to get some laughs. Larry had many nicknames “Bumpy,” “Larry Love,” and “Smiley,” just to name a few. He was known to pick on his sister often, but would come back and apologize later. He will truly be missed by all who loved him. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Jean “Jean Baby” Hargis; brother-in-law, Israel “Pee Wee” Williams; uncle, Coston Daniels; and step-grandson, Legend Sid Jean Grant. He leaves to cherish his fond memories: his wife of over twenty years, Sharon Reid of Melfa, VA; mother, Bessie Reid of Painter, VA; two brothers, Howard (Cynthia) Reid of Painter, VA and Paul (Irene) Daniels of Fredericksburg, VA; one sister, Stephanie Reid of Painter, VA; four nieces, Keona, Shaquita, Georgette, and Catera; one nephew, Rickey; five great-nieces; three great-nephews; two aunts, Dorothy Mae Custis and Eva Daniels; two uncles, Peter Daniels and Coley Daniels, all of Painter, VA; two stepchildren, Tyron Grant, Sr. of Cambridge, MD and Tyshon Grant of Melfa, VA; three step-grandchildren, Aniyah Grant, Tyron Grant, Jr., and Di’Vonna Grant; two sisters-in-law, Diane Williams and Roshelle Sharpe, both of Melfa, VA; three aunts-in-law, Maggie Beach, Carrie Harmon, both of Painter, VA, and Margaret Rodgers of Nassawadox, VA; one uncle-in-law, Berkley (Nina) Chandler of Portsmouth, VA; close friends, Anthony “Kenny” Kellam, Jackie James, and Peggy Gray; and a host of other relatives and close friends.
