Ruby V. Scott, 86, of Sperry, died at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at Azria Health Prairie Ridge in Mediapolis, IA. Born November 12, 1933 in Burlington, IA, she was the daughter of Cecil and Esther (Schmidt) Sutcliffe. She married Leo Scott on February 12, 1953 at St. Mary’s in Dodgeville, IA. She was a member of Harmony Bible Church. Ruby spent her years as a homemaker. She also worked for F&M Bank and Trust, Zales Jewelry, and she worked 18 years for chiropractor Dr. Miller. She loved sewing and making crafts, but most of all she loved her family. Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Leo Scott of Sperry, IA; three children, Sheila (Jim) Flietner of Burlington, IA, Alan (Julie) Scott of Bloomfield, IA, Monte (Kathleen) Scott of West Point, IA; a daughter-in-law Lisa Scott of New London, IA; eight grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; one great grandson and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Troy; one grandson, Dallas; one granddaughter, Carrie; a brother, Lloyd Scott; and a sister Mary Esther Sutcliffe. The funeral service for Ruby will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Harmony Bible Church in rural Danville. Rev. Dan Dingus will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Kingston, Iowa. Social distancing and masks are requested by the family, especially for the sake of their father. A memorial has been established for the Alzheimer’s Association.
