Luella Weber, 99, of the Willows of Marshalltown, Iowa entered into eternal life on October 27, 2020. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 31st at Redeemer Lutheran Church.   Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Marshalltown, Iowa.  Visitation will be at 1:00 P.M., prior to the funeral at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marshalltown, Iowa.  Memorial contributions may be directed to Redeemer Lutheran Church.  Mitchell Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Luella and her family.  For additional questions or to leave a condolence, please visit www.mitchellfh.com or call 641-844-1234. Born Luella Louise Meier, February 4, 1921 in LaMoille, Iowa, she was the daughter of Arthur H. and Clara (Krampe) Meier.  She graduated from Newburg High School in 1939 and post-graduated in Normal Training from Grinnell High School in 1941.  She attended Drake University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1961 and a certification in Elementary Special Education from the University of Iowa in 1963. She taught elementary and special education for 35 years in Poweshiek, Jasper and Marshall Counties.  She retired from the Marshalltown Schools, teaching at Hoglan Elementary the last 14 years. Luella was united in marriage to Immanuel Weber September 4, 1949 by his father in a ceremony at the Lutheran Church in Elkport, Iowa, where Immanuel’s father was pastor. Luella was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, teaching Sunday School for 35 years. Left to cherish her memory are her two children: Elaine (Don) Smith of Chicago, IL and Nancy (Charles) Rees of Marshalltown; nine grandchildren: Matthew (Lisa) Smith, Katherine Smith, Rachel Smith, all of Chicago, Emily (Peter) Ploegman of Middlebury, VT, Abigail (Micheal) Archabald of Spartenburg, SC, Benjamin (Charissa) Rees of Ames, IA, Aaron Rees of Marshalltown, Daniel Rees of Johnston, IA and Joel (Keely) Rees of Sperry, IA; 13 great-grandchildren and her sister, Leora Jones. Luella has gone to be with her Lord and Savior and the many others who have gone before her, including her husband Immanuel, her parents, her brother Edwin, granddaughter Sara, and great-granddaughter Charlotte.
