Thelma Eldridge Obituary

Thelma Eldridge, 73, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away October 27, 2020, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She was born on November 14, 1946, in Naylor, Missouri, and was the daughter of John and Mamie (Summers) Shephard. Thelma was united in marriage to Billy Eldridge in September of 1971. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Eldridge, father, John B. Shephard, mother, Mamie Shephard, brothers, John D. Shephard and Joseph Shephard, and sister, Louise Cartwright. Thelma was known by many in the community as Ms. Thelma. She enjoyed fishing, feeding deer, and watching the birds. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and American Legion. Survivors include her daughter, Shelly Williams of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; grandsons, Derek Eldridge of Pollard, Arkansas and Jacob Householder of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; longtime companion, Jerry Chapman; brother, Phillip Shephard and wife Donna of Doniphan, Missouri; sisters, Janet Graham of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Martha Shipman and husband Bobby of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and Laveta Ellis and husband Tom; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, November 1, 2020, at 12:00 p.m. at the Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas. Burial is in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Arkansas. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
